Ayahuasca is a Psychedelic/ Hard Rock band formed in 2016 in Parma, Italy by Mek Spazio (Black Gremlin and Kaptain Preemo's guitarist) and Domiziana Pritchard. The idea of forming a new band came after the dissolution of Shinin' Shade, of which they were both members. Over time, the group formation consolidated itself with the entry of Andrea De Dominicis on bass guitar, Becky Sahira (drummer of Kaptain Preemo) on synth and backing vocals, and Matteo Orzi on drums. The band combines the late sixties psychedelia (The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, The Jimi Hendrix Experience) with the neo-psychedelia and stoner of the last decade (All Them Witches, Black Angels, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard). Currently they are recording their first full length LP and the release is scheduled in early 2019.

This is some great music for a morose, rainy day. Lush, sedate, bluesy, and with a certain apocalyptic flair, most evident on White Horses, which sounds very much like a psychedelic blues dirge. I appreciate that the songs sometimes lose themselves along the way, giving way to some beautiful psych explorations. I also enjoy the vocals on this - they sometimes waver, but they fit the music so well. Smekermann
